Our Diabetes Blog Week Gifts To You!

DBlogWeek FBProfile V4This week marks the Fifth Annual Diabetes Blog Week, headed up by one of our favorite DBloggers and a true DOC leader, Karen Graffeo of Bitter~Sweet Diabetes. Diabetes Blog Week is an inspiring, empowering week during which upwards of 175 DOC bloggers join together and commit to blogging daily on a set of pre-determined topics.

Monday, for example, was Change The World day, and it was a time for #DBlogWeek participants to talk about the diabetes-related issues and causes that they feel most passionate about. Then came Poetry Tuesday, part of a teamup event with TuDiabetes. Seeing all of these fantastic #DBloggers step outside their (prose) comfort zones and jump headfirst into poetry was incredibly inspiring.

DBW NecklaceHere at Lauren’s Hope, we’re inspired by the diabetes community daily. So many of our incredible customers are people with diabetes, and we are so grateful to be part of Karen’s awesome vision for this week of celebration, reflection, awareness, and camaraderie. So we have a little “Thank You!” for Karen! Karen, we made this Kindness necklace, from our brand new Love & Beloved line, just for you! But of course, if you participate in Diabetes Blog Week, you know there are so many incredible members of the Diabetes Online Community who come together to make this the awesome event it is. So we’re giving all of you a chance to brighten another DBlogger’s week!

What’s the Deal?

Just leave us a comment telling us which other #DBlogWeek participant you’d like to see win a Kindness necklace and why. Include a link to a favorite post by that blogger or just share your thoughts. We’ll choose one winner to receive the necklace, just like Karen’s, and we’ll even engrave it #DBlogWeek, a name, a date, coordinates, a verse, or any other personal message. We know it’s a ladies’ piece, but all the DBlogging Dudes and Dads are still eligible to win it as a gift for a special woman in their lives.

We'll announce our winner on Friday, May 16th, over on the Lauren's Hope Facebook page, so be sure you've "liked" our page!

What Else Ya Got?

Also in support of Diabetes Blog Week, we have a special coupon code, DBlogWeek, just for you! Plus, you can share your support of Diabetes Blog Week by grabbing our Facebook Profile and Cover photos from Bitter~Sweet Diabetes and putting them up for as long as you’d like.

One of the bloggers who's the parent of a Type 1- they don't get enough recognition or breaks. I know my mom has gone above and beyond for me. Little sleep, lots of stress, phone calls, being there when Diabetes doesn't cooperate with me- plus so much more.
but especially Principles of Uncertainty- type 1 with a type 1 child
-Mindy, type 1 blogger.
PS- I still love my Lauren's Hope Bracelet- Had the same one since I was 14, 21 now- only way my mom could get me to wear one. Y'all are great with helping fix it or adjust the size as time has gone by- thanks! thanks for diabetes a little more "fashionable."

I'm nominating Carlyn over at http://oneunitatatime.wordpress.com/ - she's taken on a LOT lately, mentally, physically, and personally, and deserves some serious bling in her life to remind her of all the FUN! :)
Posted @ Wednesday, May 14, 2014 12:33 PM by Rhonda B
I nominate Meri @ ourdiabeticlife.com, shes simply amazing and has had a huge impact on all three of the Type One's in my family!! :)

I can't tell you what a wonderful surprise this was and how touched I am that you did this for me. Thank you so much, and thank you for the wonderful support you've given to DBlogWeek and to the DOC.
So, who to nominate? Everyone on the participant list? No?? Okay, fair enough. If I have to pick just one person to nominate, I pick April at mygirlblogs. http://mygirlblogs.com Her daughter was diagnosed less than a month ago, and she is already connecting with the DOC and sharing their journey. I'm absolutely in awe of her!!

I'd like to nominate Melissa Lee atwww.sweetlyvoiced.com. She is a truth-teller and speaks candidly about really difficult things. She doesn't get all of the recognition she deserves. She has personally helped me through many rough patches and her writing has helped move me through others.

I'd like to nominate Phoebe at The Diabetic Medic, for this post:
It's always wonderful for me to find another UK blogger, and particularly a new one - it's great to see new bloggers doing #DBlogWeek!

Kerri Sparling! She writes truth about diabetes - the good, bad, funny, sad, and everything in between. Finding her blog totally changed my outlook on living with T1D!

I would like to nominate Sarah over at La Osita. She had a great Thursday post about mantras. "The one-word difference between a hard day and a hard diabetes day is huge. A hard day IS any diabetes day. A hard diabetes day is like a hard day x 5."
