I shared the "What Every Teacher Should Know about Food Allergies" article on Facebook (http://blog.laurenshope.com/medical-id-jewelry-blog/bid/60907/What-Every-Teacher-Should-Know-About-Food-Allergies-and-a-FREE-Download). My kids don't have food allergies, thankfully, but I do and they both have friends with peanut allergies. I've been trying to raise them to be sensitive to the needs of others and how even sometimes the smallest things we do can hurt or help others. As a result, we've been practicing peanut-free lunches for several years, even though my boys LOVE peanut butter!

I would love to win #1 - it is lovely. I've been a juvenile diabetic since age 6 and never liked wearing medical bracelets because most of them were ugly. So, when I found your site about 6 years or so ago I was in heaven! I have a silver bali bead bracelet that I only take off when I sleep and have receieved so many complements - I give out your website all the time! Keep up the great work!

I love number 2. I have Type 1 Diabetes as does my son. He recently started wearing your robot charm and LOVES it and asked my why I don't have one. Buying everything twice gets a little pricey!

I love #2. I've been wearing an alert Bracelet for a year now since I had my surgery. I'm now prone to bowel obstructions and cannot take certain medications. I have all the info on my bracelet if I am unable to speak for myself.

I follow your blog. I am a fan on both Twitter and Facebook. I have a blinkie on my blog. I will write an article and link. I would love to win #2 for my 6 year old daughter. She has asthma as well as having TOO many severe food allergies making her an anaphalactic. It would be great for her to be able to change the one she has been wearing for 3 years. Number #2 reminds me of the beach which we did so much this summer and I am sure it would help her remember all the things she can do despite all the medical issues. Thank you for a chance to win.

I would love to win item 1 or 2. I have ordered a few things on here. I wear my id everyday as I have RSD and cannot have any ivs or blood pressure taken on the left side of my body. This id allows medical professional to know just in case something happens to me.

Huge fan! My daughters have severe nut and food allergies and I purchased id charms for them from you last year...I recently found out I am allergic to LIDOCANE...It is used so often and in emergency situations so my dr suggests that I start wearing an ID right away as well. I would like to win bracelet #1 or #2. As a high school teacher, I am constantly asked about my cute bracelets. Most of my high schoolers like them because they are pretty, hip or fun. I like them because it they are a discrete way to wear your information without feeling freekish or frumpy. Afterall, the bracelet cannot save your life if you do not wear it.
Posted @ Thursday, September 22, 2011 10:58 AM by Kathryn
I like the item 2 - the Mary Jane. I have a life threatening allergy to peanuts. I wear an id because I have less than five minutes to administer aid before my heart stops.
Posted @ Thursday, September 22, 2011 10:59 AM by Susan
I love them all, but #2 is best. I have several from Laura's Hope. So fun to wear after years and years of regular medical ID's. I feel feminine and dressed up again.
Posted @ Thursday, September 22, 2011 11:00 AM by Sandra Reynolds
I would love to win bracelet #1. Oh heck, any of Lauren's bracelets are perfect for wearing. If you have a medical condition it is imperative to wear one. I have Type 2 Diabetes

Bracelet #3

I have an anaphylaxis - allergic reaction to something ? and it is very important that I wear some sort of medical identification to alert medical folks of this. I love your bracelets but too many styles to choose from : o)
Posted @ Thursday, September 22, 2011 11:02 AM by Betty
As a physical education assistant I'm outside quite often. I wear one of your id bracelets already because o a severe allergy to bees. I would love to wear #2.
Posted @ Thursday, September 22, 2011 11:03 AM by Alisa Norton
I would love to win A41, so different. I am 50 and have had epilepsy since I was 14. My seizures worsened in my late 30's, and I had a vagus nerve stimulator implanted to help. They have continued to get worse. Last year we discovered that they also cause my heart to stop, so I had a pacemaker implanted. I am also allergic to compazine, it closes my throat. Thanks for the beautiful jewelry for those of us who have no choice but to wear something. I feel that to go without medical ID at this point is really unfair to the paramedics. Thanks
Posted @ Thursday, September 22, 2011 11:05 AM by Jean
I would love to win Item 2 for my daughter (middle name Rose); she has recently developed epilepsy and has just begun her first year in college ... the bracelet is perfect for her.
Posted @ Thursday, September 22, 2011 11:05 AM by Debra Russo
Love to have a chance to receive a free MEDICAL bracelet. In this case, No. 3, the plain metal much more feminine than the one I'm stuck wearing now. An 8" one would be great; diabetes and stroke are the reasons I need to wear one.
Posted @ Thursday, September 22, 2011 11:07 AM by Shirley Musloski
I love #1 and #2, hard to decide. Probably #1.
Posted @ Thursday, September 22, 2011 11:08 AM by Sue/RFamHere

I would love #1. I wear your bracelets because they are fashionable and can save my life. I wear them because I have an adrenal insufficiency and hypothyroidism.
Posted @ Thursday, September 22, 2011 11:10 AM by Melissa
I like bracelet 1.

I have 2 of the bracelets because of a heart bypass and diabeties. I just love them and get lots of compliments about the glow in the dark one. My little great nephew is 4 and when he comes to visit we have to go into a dark room so he can see it glow. He giggles.

Posted @ Thursday, September 22, 2011 11:15 AM by Brooke Overman
I would like to win #1 or #3, although I do like all of them.

Unfortunately, I have multiple medical conditions and take multiple medications which deem it necessary for me to always wear a medical ID bracelet. I have another "Lauren's Hope" medical ID bracelet right now! I have another one, also. I love Lauren's Hope bracelets because of the variety and because they don't look so "clinical" and plain as most medical ID bracelets. I tell everyone I know that needs to be wearing one about Lauren's Hope. I actually need to get one for my mother and my niece, too. Thank you for all the beautiful designs !!!
Posted @ Thursday, September 22, 2011 11:15 AM by Lynne E. Coppala
I would like to win item number two. I think it would match a lot of different colors. I now have a plan silver bracelet with charms that I elected to add. I wear my bracelet at all times as I am on two medications that contain blood thinners and I am B- blood type. I never worried about the bleeding until I cut my finger and had to get it stitched to stop the bleeding. They had to sew through the blood because there was no stopping or slowing the flow. I am afraid something will happen and it would need to be know to look for internal bleeding as well as promptly care for an outter bleeding.
Posted @ Thursday, September 22, 2011 11:18 AM by Stacie Sorrow
Item 2!

I have something called Marfan Syndrome. It effects just about everything you have and most recently I had to have my Mitral and Aortic Valves replaced with mechanical valves. Having two mechanical valves means that I must take anti-coagulants and taking anti-coagulants means bleeding can be dangerous. My plaque alerts people to this along with where they can find my full medical history (way too much to fit on a plaque)

Love Love Love this website! Can't wait to send my wishlist to people for Christmas gifts!
Posted @ Thursday, September 22, 2011 11:18 AM by Karen Maxwell

Yes we subscribe to the blog and enjoy the articles! My 4YO daughter has nut allergies and I'm always looking for new developments. Meanwhile we enjoy looking through and making a wish list of all the beautiful medical ID bracelets she'd someday like to own...yes she'd love #2 but #3 is good, too.

I like #3. My son was just diagnosed at 6 years old as a diabetic and was tickled at the sports band we recently purchased off your site. Helps make the transition easier with some "fun" stuff like that for kids.
Posted @ Thursday, September 22, 2011 11:24 AM by Daniel
I would love to win bracelet #2. My daughter would go crazy over it! She loves these colors! My daughter has a disease called Gasto Paresis,(a stomach problem.) She's sick to her stomach and stays in bed most of the time. This bracelet would be something to look at and it would certainly cheer her up when she did. I searched for weeks before I purchased my first medical alert bracelets. I read reviews, checked out the Better Business Bureau, and spoke with several medical providers. Lauren's Hope received rave reviews from everyone. I recommend Lauren's Hope to everyone who would benefit from a medical alert bracelet. My stylish Lauren's Hope bracelet is a great topic of conversation, and it creates the opportunity to talk about the importance of wearing medical alert bracelets.

I love number #1, it is so feminine-
I was diagnosed with a "seizure disorder" at the age of 38. I wear a Lauren's Hope medical bracelet. It has helped the EMT's on several occasions with the medicine I take and what I am allergic to as well. Thanks for making some awesome bracelets/necklaces. I would love to win either bracelet #1 or #2 for my daughter Alaina, she suffers from epilepsy. My concern is not only the teachers at school not knowing about her condition, I became aware that none of her bus drivers were aware of her condition. This worried me so much because Alaina suffers many nocturnal seizures and if she was to fall asleep on the bus no body would know what was going on.

I would LOVE to win #1. I am a recently diagnosed type 2 diabetic who initially resisted the idea of wearing an ID until I found Lauren's Hope braclets. They are SO attractive that most people don't even realize what they are, unless they need the information and are looking for a medical ID bracelet. I have since purchased several of your beautiful bracelets!

I have a rare genetic disorder called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome Type Four that causes my veins and arteries to be very weak. Therefore, my medical bracelet helps my family and I a lot when we need to explain to doctors how serious my condidtion is. Having such a variety of colors and expression in bracelets makes having to wear one so much easier as well. Thanks! :)

I love #1. I am a fan on Facebook and have commented there and on my home page, i also subscribe to the blog.. I wear id because I have RSD/CRPS. I take alot of meds and have a spinal cord stimulator so can't have mri's. i think it's very important to have id so medical personnel know how to treat you. My son is in school to be a paramedic and it's the first thing he looks for now.

Hello, I would love to win #1 or #2. I am a huge fan of your website!!! I have to wear an ID medical badge and hate the generic one that I have, my mentally challenged aunt wears one as well. It would mean a lot if I could give her one for Christmas.

I would love number 2. I was diagnosed with breast cancer this year and had a mastectomy with nodes removed and am at risk for lymphedema which is why I need to wear the medical alert tag!

I would love to win #2. It is really stylish and pretty. I have been wanting to order one and would love to see one. I think it would be nice to have several so you could change with your outfits. I work in a doctor's office and would love to get our patient wearing medical ID bracelets. I am a type 2 diabetic. A few weeks ago I had three heart stents and I am now on a blood thinner. I also rencently found out that I have severe deficiency of IgA which could cause a deathly reaction if I had a transfusion. My doctor said I needed an ID bracelet.

After 45 years of never being stung by any type of bee, I was stung twice in a 2 week period of time. The second time was the kicker for the epi-pen and my choice to wear a medical ID band. I also have bronchial asthma so it just seems like a smart idea to wear the band. I would like to win #3 since I'm a nurse and am in water, stainless would be great for work and out doors when I ride my horse. Needless to say, my horse was stung the second time I was stung...she's not allergic.

My daughter Gracie was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in March. We instantly got a medical id bracelet from Lauren's Hope-which we found from a friend with Type 1 Diabetes. Since then we have been shocked to learn the number of people who don't have id bracelets. It is not something that most insurance companies cover and unless you get a great one, like the ones from Lauren's Hope they don't get worn. We started a donation drive Gifts from Gracie to help raise funds to make these purchases for children whose families may not be able to afford them. Thank you for making such an amazing product-Gracie loves her bracelet and everyone notices it and asks questions. She would love to win #1 B218 Mary Jane.

I just started wearing my beautiful ID bracelet. Having been taken to the hospital (3 times) in the back of an ambulance makes one realize when you are alone it's very difficult to remember your name, much less your medical problems & meds.I suffered severe complications with Rheumatoid Arthritis once & Extreme High Blood Pressure twice. I am so proud to wear my bracelet no matter where I am & feel it is a beautiful blessing in so many ways. Oh, I really like #2.
Posted @ Thursday, September 22, 2011 1:45 PM by Gloria Lewis
I love all the bracelets and don't care which one I get, but my favorite is no. 2 with the roses. As a Lauren's hope blogger I wear one because at one time I didn't and had a seizure in a grocery store. People didn't understand what to do or what was wrong. My mom just happened to come in to the pharmacy while I was their and took care of me. I was in denial that anything would every happen to me is why I never wore one; i was wrong. Now I wear one all the time. I am a fb fan of Laurens Hope and tell all my friends with illnesses about it. I follow the blog because I learn something new for myself and my friends all the time. I follow twitter as well. I got a bracelet from Lauren's Hope about a year ago beccause they seemed to be interested in the people with real problems and not just selling bracelets. Leslie

I would love to win bracelet #3. I had 2 strokes at the age of 29. One on the right hemisphere and one on the left hemisphere. Doctors tested my blood numerous times and finally concluded that I have a rare blood clotting disorder, an Antithrombin 3 deficiency. I am a clotter. This requires me to be on Coumadin, a blood thinner, for the rest of my life. Having Coumadin printed on the back of my medical alert bracelet will inform emergency personell that I could be gushing blood and to take action quickly.

I love all three bracelets! They each have a unique distinction about them. I would love to win A228 because I need a simple bracelet that I am allowed to wear at work that doesn't get in the way. I am a Type-1 Diabetic and have been for almost fifteen years. I am a previous customer with Lauren's Hope and have two fun, cute bracelets and one necklace. I try to wear at least one of these each day just in case an event suddenly happens that I am not expecting.

I also wrote a blog titled "ID Yourself" basing it off of actually wearing a medical ID and included links to y'alls main website as well as this blog!

I have been checking out Laurens Hope website for awhile now. I lost my a job of 20 years and now have lupus anticoagulant regarding my blood and currently on blood thinners. I am so upset, because I used to be a blood donor for many years, unfortunately now I am unable to donate. So, it was recommended that I wear a bracelet. I bought a cheap ID bracelet but the red paint came off. I would love to win any of the bracelets, but really like #2 or #3. I love jewelry, but dont really like to advertise my aliments. I noticed that sometimes Laurens Hope has 15% off on their items, but at the present I am struggling very hard just to get by these days. Thanks for the opportunity to win one of your lovely ID bracelets. I will say my prayers that I possibly will be one of your winners. God Bless !!

I would love to win #3 for my son. i just recived my braclet (tinsle) for my muscular dystrophy, last week and love it . now i think i have my 17 (hard headed 17yr old) convinced to wear one and he would love the bold look of that one. he is a type 1 diabetic and has refused to wear one for the past 3 yrs. i am very scared for him when he walks out of this house and anything could happen and it would be very hard for anyone to know he is a diabetic. these bracelets make having to wear one very fashionable. if i am saved from ordering one for him maybe i can get another on to interchange it with for myself. i think all of them are beautiful

I would love to win item #2. My children and I have very severe food allergies. We all wear bracelets from Lauren's Hope. I am sure my daughter and I would make good use out of this bracelet!

I Love Lauren's Medical ID Bracelets. I have to wear one, to save my life if I am unconcious or unable to speak. I found out 2 years ago I am Adrenal Deficient and have no Immune System. I am not to be out and around a lot of people because of germs, but I get sick very easily and usually I'm extremely sick when I get sick. With the Adrenal Deficiency they can not put me under anesthesia without a large amount of Steroids being given to me ahead of time and for a few days or I stand the chance of dieing on the table. And I have been told that I am one lucky lady at this point. So Laurens Bracelets are not just beautiful they are my life saver. C247 Natures Collage is beautiful and I would love to own it. I have one that my boyfriend bought me and it does not come off me. It's my lifeline and beautiful, I get many comments on it and have become a friend to passout flyers for Laurens, because so many ask me about my bracelet and where it came from. I would love to win another Bracelet, any bracelet!! My time on this sweet earth is limited due to my illness, and Lauren will stay on my arm forever.

I would really love to wear the first bracelet featured here. I just ordered a bracelet and wish I would have ordered a cross to go on it. I am a two year breast cancer survivor and believe very highly in wearing an id. Who knows when you could be in an accident and not be able to tell those helping you that you have important needs. Those would be listed on your bracelet and possibly save you lots of problems in the future. My bracelet needs to read...Left Arm..No B.P. No Needles. Allergic to morphine.

#1 for new 12 year old w/sibing already a customer. ++I am the FAAN LA WALK Chair and have been an advocate with them and a customer and fan of your bracelets for years. I have given out your brochures and told many people about your company. My 11 year old daughter is off the charts for her nut allergy but my 2nd daughter age 12 was recently diagnosed with a new Shellfish allergy. If it isn't enough worrying and protecting one~now I have 2 kids with anaphylactic allergies! I now need a 2nd bracelet for my 12 year old and it would really help financially to win this instead of waiting for Xmas. My money just went to buying a bunch of epi-pens for school starting ~very expensive. I think my 12 year old would only wear a medical bracelet if she thought it was cool and #1 looks like her. thank you.

I wear my medic alert bracelet everyday because I am a Type One Diabetic. I am a RN and recently started working as a pediatric diabetes educator and already my bracelet has been the segue way into several conversations of why my patients should always wear one and I always tell them to check out Lauren's Hope. I feel that, especially for the girls, its great to have choices and be able to change the style easily; if its something you HAVE to wear 24/7, it should match your style!!! Thank you!!

I would like Item 3 because it would be easy to wear under my band uniform when my school's marching band travels to different events.

I would love to receive item#1. I am a type 1 diabetic who has been diabetic for 38 years now, I have been on an insulin pump for well over 14 yrs now.I have allergies to penicillin, sulfer and codeine. I have to wear a medical id bracelet to be safe while driving and also because I work in a doctors office. This is the very first id bracelet that I have ever found ever that I felt comfortable wearing, that did not break after 2 months of buying and that is stylish and not too big for me. I love Laurens Hope and every time I get a compliment I give people the website address, because i want them to share the same experience I have had with your company. Complete satisfaction!! I received my bracelet as a gift from my sister and when I had a problem all I did was give you a call and I had a new bracelet on it's way to me. Thank you for being so helpful and making our lives a little better to handle. Laurie A. Williams in NC

I would love bracelet #3 it would be a wonderful style for going to church on Sundays and being able to feel beautiful while sharing to others of my medical needs. Recently both my husband and I have been diagnosed with Diabetes and High Blood along with the High Cholesterol. Since our twins are only 3yrs old it would be difficult for them to let anyone know of our illnesses. I recently purchased a bracelet for my husband but I still need one. I look forward to seeing all you have to offer through the years.

I really like number 3, It looks like one that would go with anything you wear... I really need a new one. I had one but just a couple weeks ago it was taken off me when I was having a seizure. They took it off to read to the EMT's over the phone. And I never saw it again... I called the police station that responded and I emailed the people who were involved when this happened and NOBODY claims to know where it is... They all say, we put it back on you, or they tell me check your backpack again, If we did not put it back on you then it is in your backpack, yet I can not find it anywhere.

Please consider me for the number 3 bracelet!!

I am a double transplant recipient(kidney and pancreas)and have worn a medical ID for decades, as I was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at age 11. Though my diabetes is clinically gone since my transplants in 1989, I continue to wear my medical ID as a result of my transplants and the many medications that I take. I can honestly say that wearing a medical ID for all of these years gives me peace of mind that I would not otherwise have had. It speaks for you when you can't. I love bracelet #2 with the fall colors and I love Lauren's Hope. God bless you for what you do.

I would love option #3!! my son Wyatt is almost 5 and has a severe nut allergy. We have tried a few bracelets that are more ' kid friendly' and he just takes them off and loses them. He is in preschool and so it is extremely important that everyone knows about his allergy. Just a bracelet could actually save his life!! The more aware everyone is, the more I can relax a little while he is at school. I love this blog!!! Thank you!!

I have written about myself, but when I found out how sick I was my sister was on the road traveling with her job as an xray tech. She got back home and things weren't right. She had to go through some testing for her job because they thought something was wrong and how right they were. Out of no where she had a seizure at home, scared my 87 yr old father to death, at first the hospital ER said she had a mental break, but within 12 hours she was on her way back to the hospital by ambulance, and it was not a mental break down. She was in the middle of a seizure, and awake and talking but not herself. They put her on meds, set up appts. for Drs. and sent her home. Working was out of the question, and as sick as I was and not suppose to be around the public I hopped the next plane for home to help my dad with my sister.

Nashville Doctor's diagnosed her with with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis Syndrome with Hashimoto's Encephalopathy. Its a very very rare diease and very few people have it.

She went from being herself and working in a hospital doing xrays, mamo's, etc to not being able to remember yesterday today or years ago. Her long term memory is horrible now and her short term memory is really bad. She can not read a book and have a TV on, she can not concentrate or remember what she has read. Plus she can not work with numbers at all. Dates, times(can't tell time), writting a check, using her debit card, etc. is a diaster for her and it is killing her as a person. She doesnt want to be sick but the antibodies in her body are attacking her thyroid and now her brain. She is on all kinds of meds for seizures, and the antibody problem, but it's not a fix its just a small help to get her through. She has what she calls meltdowns, where she cries becauses of frustration. I spent months going to KY and back to FL where I live for my Drs. But I had to be with her. She was going down hill and needed me with her, so we were on the road together either heading for FL or KY. And she is my sister and I will always be there no matter what. I love her and hate to see what she is going through, she was so out going and active, and now she stays close to home and away from others so she doesnt have to explain what is wrong with her. I havent been able to go and get her in the last few months but she is coming here in a few weeks to be with us.

She wants a bracelet from Laurens, but I have to sit with her and help her pick one out and order it (it has to do with numbers and using her card to pay)) But we will get her one while she is here. She is one person who deserves to win a bracelet. I'm not sure how people are choosen, but I would love to see her win something, god what a wonderful feeling she would get from winning something, and having something beautiful to wear to warn people that she is ill. Her illness is not cureable, like mine, we both got sick with rare diease's close to the same time. I keep saying god had me become ill to help take care of my sister, and I don't mind being ill if I can be with her and help her in any way possible. She doesn't know I am doing this, but I had to add her story, it's so sad to see someone so happy, full of life, active, vibrant and intelligent change so drastic, the loss of her memory and ability to deal with numbers has caused her to look down on herself, and I keep saying it's not your fault, just keep on truckin girl!!! LOL So if you can take time to pray for Cathy and hope for a medication that will slow down the process of this diease.

I'd love to win 1 or 2 for my daughter. She's the one who wears the bracelet. She's allergic to fire ants which are everywhere here in TX. But that doesn't slow her down! She's just as full of life as any 5 year old can be. Thank you for the opportunity to win a bracelet!!!

Wow, there are so many people that deserve to win a bracelet. My daughter is fortunate to only have asthma and a peanut allergy, but starting middle school this year we are discovering that with so many different teachers they are not all aware of her medical needs. She is not allowed to carry her epipen or inhailer with her--they remain in the school office, so a bracelet would be a wonderful visual for teachers and students to help her if an emergency would arise. #2 is a bit more her style, but she would be thrilled to have either #1 or #2 to help keep her safe. Thank you for providing a stylish product for those that need a lifesaving reminder.

I would love #2! I have had severe allergies since I was a little baby and would NEVER wear a bracelet to help save my life until I saw Halle Berry had one of your bracelets and I got one...I would NEVER be without my bracelet now...thank you for making me take care of myself :-)

#2 bracelet is my favorite!! I have enjoyed wearing your bracelet and get many complements on mine. I am a nurse and work in pediatrics, many times I have looked at the pamphlets for Medical ID bracelets that were in doctors offices or at the drug stores and didn't like the way they looked!! Even though we have a medical issue that needs attention in an emergency most of us like what we wear to be stylish...so I would print off your information and give it out to patients and these facilities!! Everyone that I have spoken with love having nice looking pieces to choose from!! Since I have to wear the bracelets myself I can show them how cute they are!! Thanks for making such beautiful pieces that patients enjoy wearing everyday!!

I like all 3 bracelets but if I have to choose one it would be item 1. I have 2 bracelets already because I have type 1 diabetes. We travel a lot and I always wear my bracelet, but I would love to have several to wear everyday when I'm not traveling because you never know what might happen just day to day. I love Lauren's Hope bracelets because of the variety of choices and colors to suite anyones liking. Thanks for the chance to win another beautiful bracelet!!!

I am a freshman in college and I just got my first medical id. I have epilepsy and it's important for EMTs to be able to tell why I am having a seizure and what medication I am taking. My family lives four hours away so it's especially important, because they wouldn't even know about it without being contacted. I love my id because it's pretty and it keeps me safe. I'd really like to have #3 because it makes me nervous to wear my id in the woods or swimming, and a more practical id would be helpful.

I would be thankful for any of the 3 bracelets. I am a nurse and always have encouraged my patients to have an ID bracelet. Now that I wear one I am more appreciative of the different styles that you have available.

I would like to win either #1 or #2. I just got diagnosed with asthma 2 months ago and I have a peanut/ tree nut allergy. Wearing a medical id bracelet would give me a better peace of mind if i were to go into anaphylactic shock or have an asthma attack and I was unable to speak for my self.

I was diagnosed with a seizure disorder when I was 14, I am now 42. I never wore a medical ID bracelet because I didn't want to be "different" and I felt that drug store jewelry identified me as so... I also didn't feel that I needed it because my seizures were undercontrol with the medication that I was taking... until this past mothers' day, which marked the beginning of my newest challenge and a change in my attitude.
In May, 2011, I had my first of many seizures this summer. My doctors could not explain why my medication suddenly stopped working. Luckily, my seizures seem to happen only when I'm sleeping, which I always took for granted. But I also always took for granted that they were under control. As a mother of two, I no longer feel that my disorder only effect me. I realize that it effects my family, and all the people in my life because you just never know.
After a summer of doctors appointments, tests, medication changes, and not driving (which was the most challenging), I thought that things were once again under control and behind me.
Then at the beginning of September, another round of seizures happened, followed by more doctors appointments, more tests, more medication adjustments, and more months of no driving began.
My family had always been aware of my seizures, but now my friends, neighbors and co-workers were also aware. I realized the importance of wearing a medical ID bracelet, because as I learned, you can't take anything for granted but you can take steps to keep yourself safer.
However, I still didn't want to wear drug store jewelry... that is when my sister-in-law told me about a friend of herswho has diabetes and wore beautiful bracelets. At first, I didn't believe her. I was shocked when I saw the choices on the website and ordered my first bracelet, which I now wear daily, with pride :)
I work as a pediatric occupational therapist. By wearing my bracelet, I have found a new way to connect with the children I work with, as well as their families. I have gotten so many compliments and recommend Laurens hope to so many of them. I have also been approached by co-workers, friends, strangers, and doctors with compliments and inquiries to where they could get a bracelet fir themselves, their child or some one close to them. I am always so happy to refer them to Laurens Hope, knowing that they will find the assurance and excitement that they can stay safe while being wearing an accessory that they're proud to wear!
Thank you Laurens Hope!! :)
