When you call Lauren's Hope, there's a pretty good chance you'll speak with Christy Osborn, Customer Service Representative Extraordinaire and all-around awesome lady. So, who's the person behind the smiling voice on the phone? Here's the inside scoop on Christy, who's been a cheerful part of the LH team for almost two years.
Every October, the pink ribbons abound as people come together to promote breast cancer awareness, support, and research efforts. Thankfully, those efforts continue all year round, and here at Lauren’s Hope, that’s never been truer than it became this past spring.
In April, CEO and Owner, LeAnn Carlson called a staff meeting. Gathered together, LeAnn shared the news with all of us. Not one to mince words, she simply said, “I have been diagnosed with breast cancer.”
Lauren's Hope is a constantly evolving, growing organization with countless moving parts. Heading up the organization of all of those spinning plates is Sari Cantrell, Operations Manager and jack-of-all-trades around the office who is just as often found fixing a computer or developing infrastructure as she is working on our website, helping customers, managing inventory, and pitching in wherever else she's needed. We sat down this morning to chat about her first 18 months here at LH.
So far at my time here at Lauren’s Hope, I’ve had the privilege of hearing some really inspiring stories from and about Lauren’s Hope customers. This one, though, I found to be especially neat because it involves our very own Lauren, the namesake of our company.
Monday is Memorial Day. While that typically means a day off work, lots of picnics, and the unofficial start to summer, we all know the true purpose of Memorial Day is honoring those US military personnel who have died in service to our nation. If you ever call the Lauren’s Hope office on a busy day, you may have your questions answered or order taken by one LeAnn Carlson, who’s friendly as they come, always ready to help, and as knowledgeable about our products as humanly possible. Organ transplants have lifelong implications for the transplant recipient. For example, when someone receives a liver transplant, there are a variety of lifestyle changes the recipient must make. Liver transplant recipients must not drink alcohol in excess, must be especially cautious about the safety of their drinking water, will likely need to take immunosuppressant medications to help prevent organ rejection, have to take particular care to avoid infections, and must avoid coming in contact with animal waste products (e.g.: have someone else tend to pets’ needs).
